I have worked as a staff nurse and Health Promotion Practitioner
Briefly describe a typical day in your job role (tasks carried out)
As a PEF, I support student nurses while on a clinical placement, this involves regular ward visits and meetings with the universities to ensure their placement is fit for purpose and their experience is positive.
In my gynaecology role, I see and treat a range of patients with gynaecology concerns. My specialist role is focused on Menstrual Dysfunction (difficult periods). I request investigations and advise on suitable treatment plans for their conditions.
Have you had any special training/completed any qualifications?
I have a diploma in Nursing (child), a degree, and a master’s in Children and Young People’s Practice. I’m also trained as a Professional Nurse Advocate, and for my gynaecology role, I have a master’s certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
What would you say your key skills are? What type of person are you? I’m a very friendly, warm-hearted person and live by my motto of treating others as I expect to be treated myself. I truly care about my role in the Trust and pride myself on working here since January 2003. I could not see myself working at any other Trust.
