Briefly describe a typical day in your job role (tasks carried out)
My typical day can vary depending on the setting that I am in (inpatients or outpatients). However, generally my role encompasses working with patients on their activities of daily living (e.g. washing and dressing, toileting, eating, handwriting, play), promoting independence and facilitating discharge home. I can also be involved with cognitive assessments and rehabilitation, hand splinting, home visits and providing school advice.
Have you had any special training/completed any qualifications?
I completed my bachelor’s degree in biomedical science but decided to have a change in career post-completion. I therefore went on to do a master’s degree in occupational therapy (Pre-Registration) to qualify as an Occupational Therapist.

I would say that I am a caring and empathetic person who always gives 100% to my patients. I am passionate about ensuring that my patients get the holistic, tailored and meaningful care throughout their journey as ultimately it is the core of my profession as an Occupational Therapist!
