The GE Signa Premier 3T scanner provides the following capability:
- Exceptional image quality, high resolution, and signal-to-noise ratio for both clinical and research applications.
- Flexible, ultra-lightweight coils provide excellent comfort and adaptability, supporting head-to-toe imaging with fewer coil changes.
- Uses artificial intelligence to produce high-quality images faster, even in challenging patients or low signal conditions.
- Reduces acoustic noise dramatically, enhancing patient comfort—especially important in paediatric and neurological studies.
- Supports fMRI, DTI, SWI, and ASL for detailed structural and functional brain imaging.
- Offers comprehensive cardiac imaging capabilities, including real-time cine imaging, perfusion, and late enhancement.
- High performance gradient system enables whole-body DWI, oncology imaging, and MSK assessments.
- Reduced artefacts from patient movement.
- Software platform allows custom pulse sequence development.
- Large bore improves patient access and comfort, especially for larger or claustrophobic patients.
- Optimized for lower power consumption and reduced helium use with GE’s Green Technology.
Alder Hey has also been successful in securing an additional award from NIHR to add a xenon polariser and multinuclear capability and this will be integrated into the service over the next 12 months.
