Following a cyber incident in November 2024, an intensive forensic investigation has taken place to determine which systems had been impacted and if any data had been accessed unlawfully.
Following the conclusion of this forensic investigation, we can confirm:
- The cyber attackers did not gain unlawful access to any systems within Alder Hey.
- No data held by Alder Hey was accessed during this incident.
- No data relating to Alder Hey patients, families or our staff has been published unlawfully.
- There was no clinical or operational impact on our services as a result of this incident.
We remain committed to – and place high emphasis on – the protection of systems and data, and will ensure that learning from this incident is used to reinforce cyber security and resilience arrangements.
