People across Cheshire and Merseyside are being urged not to leave it too late to order repeat prescriptions ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend – with subsequent days of industrial action likely to see significant pressure on the NHS.
The quickest way to make sure you get your repeat prescription in time for the Easter weekend is to download the NHS app, register and then order your repeat medication. You can download the NHS App via the App Store or Google Play.
Get the NHS app on App Store Get the NHS app on Google PlayThis year, the Easter Bank Holiday will be immediately followed by four days of industrial action by junior doctors, during which time the NHS is expecting significant disruption – and it is vital the public are aware of the pressure the health service will be under and the best way to access care during that time.
NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Medical Director, Prof Rowan Pritchard-Jones, said: “Anything you can do ahead of Easter to ensure you have enough prescription and over-the-counter medication will help to ensure services are available for those with the most urgent needs.
“Please ensure you have enough medication to last through the Easter period and beyond. If you are already registered and need medication before next week, please use the NHS app to order your repeat prescription.”
