Alder Hey has made necessary plans to maintain the safety, welfare and service of those in our care during the Industrial Action planned on 6th and 7th February.
Anyone who is due to attend for a procedure or outpatient appointment, should attend as usual unless they have heard otherwise. If an appointment or procedure has been cancelled, patients will have been contacted directly about this in advance.
Our Emergency Department will be open as normal, but we are seeing record attendances and you may have a long wait.
If it is not an emergency, please consider other options such as checking our Symptom Checker, visiting a pharmacist, contacting your GP, or visiting www.111.nhs.uk.
If you need to visit a Walk In Centre, we encourage you to contact NHS 111 beforehand – find out more at https://www.merseycare.nhs.uk/our-services/liverpool/walk-centres.
If you are worried about Strep A, please take a look at this video below from Bimal from our Emergency Department or go to – https://alderhey.nhs.uk/symptom-checker/group-a-strep-and-scarlet-fever.
