The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for NHS England, Acosia Nyanin, visited Alder Hey today to consult with staff about the development of the Professional Strategy for the future of Nursing, Midwifery and Nursing Associates.
The strategy will look at how the professions need to transform over the next 15 years to meet the opportunities and demands of the future health and care system, as set out in the 10 Year Health Plan.

This will include continued growth in demand for health services, generational changes as people look to take more control of their own health, the development of AI and digital healthcare, and global challenges such as climate change.
The event, hosted at our Institute in the Park building adjacent to the hospital, provided an opportunity for staff to have to their say and help to shape the final content of the plan.
