AireFest brings together people from across health and care to share ideas, learn from one another and celebrate innovation. Its Unsung Hero recognition shines a light on the individuals and teams who quietly go the extra mile every day to make healthcare better.
ICCNT helps children receive safe, high-quality care closer to home wherever possible, supporting hospital admission avoidance, earlier discharge and reducing disruption to family life.
The team operates one of the largest paediatric Virtual Ward services in the UK and delivers specialist support through its Community Children’s Nursing, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Infant Feeding, Continence and Rare Disease teams.
Its community healthcare assistants and phlebotomists also provide care closer to home for children with neurodiversity, medical complexities and additional needs, helping to reduce anxiety and remove barriers to care.
The nomination described ICCNT as knowledgeable, compassionate, approachable and relentlessly child-focused, recognising the trusted relationships they build with families and their willingness to support improvements across children’s healthcare.
