Harrison was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell) in March 2025 and completed six cycles of intensive chemotherapy, each lasting three weeks.
Following his final cycle, Harrison completed his treatment and rang our end of treatment bell in August.
Harrison is now back at school and more determined than ever to regain his strength. Sport has always been a central part of his life — especially swimming, where he previously trained two hours a day, seven times a week as part of Southport Swimming Club. He’s gradually rebuilding his stamina, starting with walks and hoping to be back in the pool in the coming weeks.
He also has several adventures planned — from trips to Alton Towers and London to a visit up to Edinburgh.
This experience has also shaped Harrison’s dreams for the future. Having seen the impact of oncology teams first-hand, Harrison is now passionate about one day pursuing a career in oncology medicine himself.
“Throughout this journey, Ward 3B and Daycare became like a family to us. The staff provided not only expert medical care, but also constant encouragement, reassurance, and moments of joy during some of the most challenging days of our lives. Their support, together with the incredible work of the various children’s cancer charities, made a huge difference to Harrison and our family.”
Pamela, Harrison’s Mum
Harrison and mum Pamela also wrote a poem as a thank you to our staff on Ward 3B & Daycare, which you can find below.
