Alder Hey has been ranked 16th out of 134 acute and specialist NHS Trusts in the country, in new performance league tables published by the Government today. This places the Trust amongst the highest performing in England, and the highest-ranking specialist children’s Trust.
The new NHS Oversight Framework assesses Trusts using a range of performance metrics, the aim being to promote improvement while helping to identify which Trusts need support. Based on this assessment, each Trust is placed into one of four segments, with segment 1 representing the highest performing Trusts. Alder Hey has been placed into segment 1.
“We’re pleased to be recognised as amongst the top performing Trusts in the country, and indeed the highest-ranking specialist children’s hospital in England. This reflects the incredible dedication of our people across every service and at every level to providing outstanding care for children and young people. Achieving this standard takes real teamwork, and we know that more of the same will be required if we are to maintain and continuously improve upon it. I’m deeply grateful to everyone at Alder Hey for the dedication they show in meeting the needs of the families we serve, today and in the future.”
