Alder Hey currently has over 13,000 members. Through our membership, we can gain a better understanding of the needs of our patients, parents and carers which will help us to improve what we do.
Anyone aged seven or over can become a member. Membership is completely free and gives you the opportunity to make a difference by helping us improve the services we provide to our patients. You can be as actively involved as you wish and being a member doesn’t need to take up lots of your time. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved:
- Read our regular newsletter and stay up to date with what is happening at Alder Hey.
- Email your Governor if you have any feedback or ideas that you would like to share.
- Help to recruit new members. We would like more young members to join the Trust so please encourage your family and friends to sign up and help the hospital plan for the future.
- Take part in Council of Governors elections, either by nominating yourself or voting for a new Governor to represent the views of members and ensuring the Trust is accountable to the local community.
- Attend a Council of Governors’ meeting as an observer.
- Attend the Annual Members’ Meeting which takes place annually and is a great opportunity to find out about what has been happening at Alder Hey and our plans for the future.
- Volunteer for us. If you are over 18 you can join our Volunteering Programme and support various initiatives across the Hospital. Find out more on our Volunteering page.
- Join our Young People’s Forum. The Alder Hey Youth Forum will give you a real say in improving the hospital’s services. The Forum is open to any young person aged between 8 to 18 and provides opportunities to meet other children and young people, gain new skills and qualifications, explore potential careers within health care, and empowers children and young people to share their ideas and work as partners in care to make Alder Hey a world-renowned service.
