Primary Care
Appointed 2022
Who am I?
I have been a dentist over 22 years! My areas of interest are surgical dentistry (including dental implants and oral surgery) and cosmetic dentistry. I have worked in several oral maxillofacial surgical departments across the country, including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital NHS Trust, prior to joining the primary care sector in 2009. I currently serve on the Liverpool Dental Committee (LDC) as an elected member (second term). I run a dental surgery which is based in West Derby, Liverpool. We provide several complex dental procedures along with general dentistry. I am a father of three gorgeous children and try to spend as much time as I can with them, which is challenging due to my schedule.
What do I bring to this role?
Running a dental practice for over eight years now has taught me business acumen and the day-to-day management of a business in the health care sector. It was not easy working during COVID times, however we as a surgery were working as an urgent dental care service to provide care to patients in Liverpool.
COVID has highlighted the problems people are having to get a dental appointment as the access has become increasingly difficult. As part of the LDC, I can see the struggles dentists are having to maintain and provide a dental service in the current climate.
I am looking to help provide a liaison between the primary care dentistry and the patients to facilitate the access and dental care.
