Who am I?
I am a mum of 2 boys who have both been treated here at Alder Hey and believes it’s the Best. My son has volunteered here and enjoyed his time meeting and greeting staff and colleagues during his volunteering time he spent here.
I am a PICU Staff Nurse since 2003 and also Deputy Chair for our Race Equality and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Staff network since 2023, I am extremely passionate about supporting our nurses and their well-being, and making sure their voices are heard. With my years of experience, I would like to use this towards staff wellbeing and best patient care making sure, that I contribute to our Alder Hey Vison 2030, being grounded in the values of compassion, courage, commitment, community.
What do I bring to this role?
With my experience and wealth of knowledge of working in a stressful environment of critical care, I understand first-hand the importance of staff wellbeing. I understand that it is important to listen to our nurses for their concerns and support them, ensuring a robust support system is in place to prioritise their wellbeing, and I can signpost them to the right support to meet their needs and feel supported.
Maintain confidentiality while effectively escalating concerns to council members when affecting staff morale and putting their wellness at risk.
I am eager and willing to learn continuously and share my insights, especially coming from a diverse background and to be a strong advocate for our nurses.
