Information for parents
SUN BLOCK SPF 50 must be used daily. If skin in tanned, you may not be treated as the risk of hyperpigmentation is increased. Treatment cannot be given 2 weeks prior or after a holiday in the sun.
On the day of laser treatment
The area must be free from:
- ALL make up
- Sun cream
- Moisturiser
- Perfume
- Deodorant (if this is the area to be treated).
- Fake tan
If any are present on the skin, you will not be treated as the risk of pigmentation change and blistering is increased.
Use soap and water to remove any of the above from the skin. Do not use wipes as these can leave a film on the skin which can also increase risks.
Patient having Laser Hair Removal
Patient must no have hair waxed, threaded, or use a hair removal cream two weeks before treatment.
You may shave the hair between treatments but do not shave for hair removal for five-seven days before treatment as we need to able to assess the hair to carry out treatment.

Laser Emla Cream
If your child requires Emla numbing cream prior to your child’s laser treatment. Please can you attend 75 minutes prior to your appointment time. This will enable the cream to be given to you and then applied. It takes approx 60 minutes to go numb. You will be given cream at the end of this app for you to apply for your next app.
