Media resources – Alder Hey in the Park
Alder Hey spokespeople
We accept requests for an official comment from the hospital or for a spokesperson to talk about a particular patient, condition or treatment. We’ll respond as quickly as possible but please be aware we receive a high volume of requests every week.
Patient condition checks
Condition checks can only be given when the patient’s full name and either address or date of birth is given. This information is necessary for us to identify the patient. Condition checks will only be provided once we have received consent from the family and we’re unable to provide details of injuries, dates of admission/discharge or ward numbers.
Photographs and Interviews
We welcome all appropriate requests to speak to patients and families at the hospital, but media representatives must not access the Alder Hey site without the consent of the Press Office, and must be accompanied by a member of the Press Office whilst on site. Please contact us in advance to coordinate your visit.
We’ll arrange all photography or interviews with patients and families, but only if consent is given. Access will also be dependent on the patient’s condition and with the permission of staff involved in that patient’s care. We’re unable to arrange any photography or interviews outside office hours.
Written parental consent must be taken by our team before photographing or filming anyone under the age of 16.
