Allergy
The Department of Paediatric Allergy at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital provides an allergy service for children with common allergic symptoms and a rapid access service for patients referred from our Emergency Department.
We are also a tertiary referral centre for evaluation of children with complicated allergic conditions such as multiple food allergies, chronic urticarial, bee and wasp allergy and drug allergy.
We are a multidisciplinary team currently comprising two allergy specialists, 4 paediatricians with a special interest in allergy, 1 Consultant Nurse and one Allergy Associate Nurse Specialist.

- IgE testing and interpretation
- Epipen training
- Food challenges to diagnose or exclude food allergy
- Drug challenges
- Insect and Venom allergy evaluation
- Evaluation for immunotherapy
