New physical activity project for children with asthma

New SCORE Project coming to Alder Hey!

Set goals, Commit, Optimise asthma control, Reinforce an active lifestyle, Enable to achieve

Alder Hey are working with Liverpool FC Foundation, Absolute yoga, ComMutual Firefit, Merseyside Dance Initiative and Music Therapy to offer you fun and free after school activities of your choice in a range of venues across Liverpool.

Activities include yoga, dance, multi-sports, football, dodgeball, learning an instrument, singing/rapping, zorbing and archery combat.

There is a reward for good attendance!

The programme will not only improve the quality of care given to children with asthma, but also enable them to manage their own condition better. Participants will have regular support from the SCORE team to ensure they are getting the best treatment for their asthma as well as having access to psychology led interactive sessions, breathing exercises and much more.

This project aims to reduce asthma attacks, improve general fitness and empower children and families to have control of their asthma management. This will ultimately improve quality of life, engagement in activities and will we can address any particular issues you would like us to.

Who is eligible?
Anyone aged 6-16 years with difficult to control asthma or struggles with exercise. You may have a history of coming to A&E, or have required oral steroids or you may have frequent asthma exacerbation.
