Important Changes To Car Parking – Closure of Small Car Park Near Emergency Department
Visitors will now need to enter the Alder Hey site and use the car park at Alder Road, where extra parking spaces have recently been made available.
A short term parking facility will be put in place near the entrance to the Emergency Department in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, we apologise for any disruption but this closure is a result of planned building works at our new Alder Hey in the Park site.
Original car parking article from April
From Monday 7th April, we will be making an extra 70 parking spaces available to families and visitors and we will be changing the payment system.
The additional spaces will be in the main car park which visitors can access from the entrance on Alder Road. From Monday, visitors should pay for their parking at the exit barrier when leaving Alder Hey.
The price remains £2 for 24 hours use and please note the machine will only take cash, although notes will be accepted and change will be given.
Regular visitors to Alder Hey can buy a ‘ten visit pass’ from the Cash Office (located on the main corridor opposite WH Smith). A ‘ten visit pass’ costs £10, which offers a discount to regular visitors to the hospital. Visitors with existing car park passes can redeem them at the cash office.
We are aware that providing enough parking spaces on our current site will be a challenge until we move into our new hospital next year. The multi-storey car park at your new Alder Hey in the Park will have even more spaces for visitors.
