There are 5 multidisciplinary clinics every week seeing children and young people with asthma.
There is an evening adolescent asthma clinic. Patients are usually referred by their GP for diagnosis and management. We also see children who have asthma which is difficult to control referred from other paediatricians in Liverpool, the North West and North Wales.
What happens when I come to clinic?
You will have your height and weight measured.
If you are 5 years or older we will measure your lung function, looking at how much air you can blow out and how quickly. Find out more on the lung function page. link
You will be seen by the doctor and the asthma nurse specialist and if you have asthma you and your parents will be given asthma education, a management plan and review of your inhaler technique.
