Epilepsy Nurse Specialist Service
She trained & qualified as a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse at Great Ormond Street children’s hospital.
A secondment to the Neurosurgical ward there enhanced her interest in epilepsy surgery. Laura later became Senior Clinical Nurse, working in general paediatrics and Neurology at Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Children’s Hospital.
She went on to become a Neurology Nurse Specialist at LRI before leaving to specialise in epilepsy by taking the current post in 2002.
I have been based in the Roald Dahl EEG department at the Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital Alder Hey. My passion for the job that I do is not only being involved with the children but also being involved with the whole family.
Outside of nursing, I am a governor in a special School, Princes Primary and one evening a week I work in a club attached to our church for adults with learning difficulties. I am also actively involved in church life. I love to make cakes and marmalade!
