Your comments and experiences

  • Our granddaughter attended for a minor procedure yesterday, 8/1/18. As she is severely disabled, and can’t speak, it could have been a difficult day for. She was however allocated a year 3 medical student, to accompany her during all aspects of her six hour stay. What a lovely young man, an asset to the NHS. KInd, caring and an excellent communicator…. We would love our comments to be passed on to him. The staff on the ward did everything they could to ensure the comfort of our granddaughters. Many thanks Sue and Tom

  • Thankfully only a small procedure for my son. Always amazed at the work the doctors and nurses do in the NHS. They are all a credit to themselves. Looking from the outside, it baffles me how our government do not back these fantastic people with all our taxes.

  • took our 4 year old to get his tonsils out today and it was the most stress free day we have had in a hospital. all the staff were so attentive, thorough and caring. Adam Donne and his team are simply amazing and we felt so secure and safe in their hands. CANT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

  • Had an ankle op yesterday and the whole team from pre to post were friendly, helpful and supportive especially nurse Collette who looked after me on the night shift

  • Our little girl had her tonsils out last Friday (11/8/17) I wanted to say how wonderful all the staff on the ward were including the theatre staff. You made a very nerve wracking time much much easier for us and we will always remember your kindness.
From Katie Rose and her mum and dad.

  • This our third bronchoscopy visit and as always we’re greeted by the friendliest and most professional team ever PLUS loving the stay in the new bedroom and ensuite. Hard to impress my teen but They’ve done it.

  • After attending with our son for some minor surgery I had to share my experience, department worked like clockwork! Fantastic team! Met with the aneathstaist who explained fully and answered all our questions! The nurses were amazing friendly and full of information! Amazing care received yet again! Our son was made to feel at ease (as we’re we) couldn’t fault anything smooth sailing.

  • Thank you so much to Miss McAndrew and the lovely staff who came to Broad Green on 2/2/17 to look after Lois during her procedure. Lois is a particularly nervous patient, but everyone was so patient with her and gave her the very best care possible. it was so lovely to have so much personal care. every staff member that day took so much time with us and we felt very special. You are all so wonderful.

  • After a whirlwind week since Monday after my daughter broke her arm in school.. we didn’t have much time to think. On the Tuesday morning after the consultant looked at her x-rays from Whiston, he took time to us to tell us she would need to have the bone manipulated into place and k wired to keep the bone in place. When we arrived today as it was her operation date … Everything went so quickly from meeting Mr Walton’s Registrar, the anethetist, the nurse, Lesley who took Ella’s OBS to Mr Walton himself to Ella going into theatre. When she came out of theatre we was taken to the recovery to be with Ella. As a mum I had never felt so helpless. Even after her surgery. Mr Walton’s Registrar came to explain what happened in theatre. I want to thank Lesley, The anethetist, the nurse, Mr Walton’s Registrar, Mel in recovery and Mr Walton.

  • Big thank you to all staff from the minute me and my son arrived at the day surgery department for the care and friendly faces that made us feel so relaxed it was outstanding on the 19.10.16

  • Today I took my 4 year old daughter to Alderhey to go to the day care unit for surgery on her strawberry birthmark on her head/hair line. This is something I’ve been very worried about for the last few months, upon arriving on the ward I was greeted by some very lovely people, who where very caring, considerate and truelly did there jobs very well. once it was time for Molly’s op I was very upset and once again the nurses an other members of the theatre could not be any more helpful and when I was really upset after leaving Molly in the theatre one of the nurses was very considerate.. All the team did an amazing job and was very caring and really looked after my baby and I could not thank anybody enough, I can’t name, names because I’m terrible with them but to every person who helped my little girl and myself today. Thankyou very much you all do a fantastic job.

  • Such a lovely department!
My 6 year old was in for her tonsils removed on friday 1st july and i really cant fault the staff, ward or toys and entertainment for the children.
Chloe was apprehensive to say the least but was instantly put at ease by the staff and loved the fish tank, it really relaxed her.
A special mention has to go to Jamie, the most lovely student nurse who chloe adored, nothing was too much for her and she was honest and caring whenever chloe asked anything. Alder hey would be very lucky to have her as part of the team permanently.
Thank you for making a scary experience into a positive one for both my daughter and myself.

  • A huge thanks to Harriet Corbett and her team for the fantastic care of my son Harvey on 22nd April. He had a megaprepuce reconstruction and all the staff were absolutely amazing before, during and after. Restores your faith in the nhs as all the hospitals we have been don’t compare to the quality of care they give you here. They really interested in there job and look after children the best way possible. Thank you again.

  • My son Nathan had dental surgery on 19th Oct. He has severe learning difficulties and this was always going to be a challenging experience for all concerned. The staff were fantastic, allowing thing to progress at his pace and not stressing him or us out when they could see things wouldn’t go to plan.
