Alder Centre - Bereavement Care Services
The training team comprises of counsellors who have worked in a range of settings and are qualified and experienced teachers, trainers and facilitators. The training programmes are designed to help practitioners improve their awareness and develop skills within existing areas of work or for career development.
Courses which can be provided include:
- Understanding and Using Basic Counselling and Effective Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Understanding and Working with Childrens Grief and Grief in the Family
The Alder Centre offers placements to Student-Counsellors who are on approved training programmes in counselling and psychotherapy. To be eligble for a placement, candidates must have completed the ‘Understanding and Working with Children’s Grief and Grief in the Family’ course, as detailed above and be in at least the second year of a recognised diploma/degree course. We offer Trainee-Counsellors free in-house supervision, as well as mentorship during their placement at the Alder Centre.
