A Message To Families From Louise Shepherd, Chief Executive
You may be aware of stories in the media today regarding contaminated intravenous feeding ‘drips’ at other hospitals, which have resulted in blood poisoning (septicaemia) caused by a bacteria known as Bacillus Cereus.
I would like to reassure all parents and carers of children at Alder Hey, that although a very small number of Alder Hey patients did receive this product, we do not consider that any of our patients have been affected.
We will be contacting the families of these children directly to provide strong reassurance and will continue to monitor these children over the coming days.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Patient and Family Support Team on 0151 252 5374 or 0151 252 5161
