2017 Annual Members’ Day round-up
Earlier this week Alder Hey once again welcomed dozens of families, patients, staff, governors and friends to our Annual Members Meeting at the Institute in the Park.
Our flagship members’ event, the Annual Members Meeting brings together everyone and anyone interested in Alder Hey to celebrate our successes and look back on an eventful year.
The meeting was led by Chief Executive, Louise Shepherd CBE with a recap and discussion on the past 12 months, taking in the Royal Opening, our international partnership with Al Jalila Children’s Hospital and innovations such as our hybrid theatre and the ‘cognitive hospital’.
Attendees were delighted to welcome Dr Steve Ryan, Medical Director, and his keynote speech ‘The Medical Director’s Tale’, as he reflected humorously on his long and eventful career, both at Alder Hey and at other NHS organisations.
However the star attraction of the evening had to be our Financial Update, which was delivered as a very charming video showcasing some of our children’s presenting skills.
